North Country Insurance was founded by Russell Potter in 1974 and was purchased by Tom H. Schmidt, CLU, ChFC, in 1978. North Country Insurance was incorporated in 1995. The popular resort area of Indian River, located in Cheboygan County, Michigan attracts many people from Southern Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Florida. We are licensed in all of these states and are able to help people with their insurance needs in these areas as well as here in Northern Michigan.
