Indian River Trail Report:
DATE: Friday, 2-3-12, 10 am
BASE: 1-3"
PAST 24 Hrs: 35 degrees
CONDITION: Fair on railroad grade--good in the woods
A couple of staff members from Burt Lake Marina just went for a short ride through the woods on the east and west loop. They report good trail conditions out there! There are some icy and thin spots in some corners and the base is thin but it's white and smooth. Granted, you've got brown at the trailhead and where arteries intersect. But once you get out several yards it's back to white. The railroad grade is ok in some spots and pretty sparce in others. So don't be afraid to hit the trails this weekend--just keep it in the woods. We've got some clouds this morning but may see some sun by this afternoon. Temps will hang in the mid-30's. Overnight predictions are for temps in the low teens and even single digits and that will help preserve trail conditions. The weekend looks quiet for now. Be safe out there!
